“'Be Bold' is about being fearless and taking chances, being yourself and having the courage to face the world. This piece encompasses all the qualities of being strong and having healthy self-esteem.”
“'Baptism in the River' represents two things. 1) When you are suffering from mental health issues, personal cleanliness can be a struggle. 2) The act of bathing in the river in this image is washing away not only the dirt on the body but symbolic of rebirth, washing away the pain of the past, and looking forward to a hopeful future.
The gold foil represents hope and light and a brighter future. The baptism in this image is not necessarily spiritual/religious, though it could be, it represents more the rebirth within the mind of someone who has been trapped within their mental health struggles.
Art has a soothing effect on my soul. It gives me a means to express my creativity, emotions, and dreams. Through art, I can explore both the darker and brighter aspects of life in a safe and controlled way. While my art is something I create entirely for myself, I hope that others will be able to connect with it and with me, and find understanding in what I share.”
