The 34 Gallery is an SDG 3.4 Initiative developed by SimukaAfrica.org, a UN Climate Action Cause dedicated to improving the lives of youth, families and child marriage survivors in Zimbabwe. The 34 Gallery is a 100% Volunteer Effort to create a collaborative community of like-minded artists to keep the mental health discussion active. SimukaAfrica.org is a recognized for
UN Sustainable Development Goal Action.
Our target action, "Rescue plan for people and planet through a youth vocational training centre on life skills," is coordinated by Andrea Romaoli Garcia, OHCHR Special Rapporteur.
In April 2024, Zimbabwe declared a state of disaster due to climate change drought. Our Match-A-Meal Campaign is committed to helping at-risk youth and food insecure households with nutritious food. We also helped them establish vegetable gardens and provide food truck service of free meals to villages.
The Youth Resource Centre offers education materials on entrepreneurship, HIV/AIDS and Adolescent & Youth Sexual Reproductive Health. The resource center also helps to empower girls at risk of child marriage through the provision of life skills training. We provide safe space to overcome social isolation and develop support networks.
The Norton Library encourages a culture of reading, researching and learning among young people. The project is equipped with computers, sports equipment, and free internet. We also empowers girls at risk of child marriage by providing life skills training, educational options, and career advancement here.
Child marriage is illegal in much of the world, yet the practice still persists. Our cause is fully dedicated in helping child marriage survivors to attain the resources necessary to go back to school. Our Girls Club Initiative also supports local girls with after-school education & social activities. In addition, we also provide educational resources on reducing gender violence.
With the support from international partners, SimukaAfrica.org initiated a number of clean-up campaigns to promote sustainable waste management, reduction of litter and eventually the reduction of diseases such as cholera & typhoid. We also actively work on SDG 6 borehole construction & maintenance projects. To date, more than 20,000 people benefited from having access to clean water.
