The 34 Gallery is an International UN SDG 3.4 Mental Health Initiative!
SimukaAfrica.org created The 34 Gallery as a UN SDG 3.4 Mental Health Initiative to highlight the importance of global mental health. By utilizing the Arts to cultivate self care, self-esteem, & self-awareness, we seek to lower the suicide rate for the 85% of the global population without access to mental health care.
Ezekiel Zekiya Mudimu is a development practitioner with over 15 years’ experience working with young people, girls’ rights and vulnerable communities. He is a former Executive Harare Branch Secretary of the YMCA Zimbabwe and Editor and Founder of A Closer Look Magazine.
Magdelene, D.D. (M.) is a career journalist with a specialization in international nonprofit administration. As UNV Supervisor, she manages all UNV Online Personnel and curates our Open Calls. In addition, M. is an abstract artist with an international client base in 7 countries.
Noriko Hatanaka is active UNV Online Personnel currently serving as our 34 Gallery Graphics Coordinator. She is also talented graphic designer driven by passion for art and design, which makes her deeply committed to crafting inspiring and impressive visual experiences.
Mazvita Joana Muzondo is active Zimbabwean UNV Online Personnel. With a BSc in Computer Science. She is passionate about harnessing technology and digital media to drive humanitarian efforts, enhance NGO impact, and support global development initiatives.
Talent Singizi is a Zimbabwean UNV Online Videographer. She pioneers tech trends and advocates for at-risk youth in marginalized communities. Her career is focused on using technology to inspire global change.
Aidan Torgersen has an incredible passion for creative pursuits. He is also currently working on his third film with his own creative team, C.A.N. Studios. A recent graduate from Queensborough College, he works as an editor, content developer, & assets manager for Queens World Film Festival.
Danae Ding is active UNV Online Personnel from China serving as an Interludes Editor & Artist Contributor. Currently a graduate student at the University of Melbourne, she is an advocate for world peace, humanitarian causes, and charity. Danae expresses her deep love for the world through the arts— writing and poetry.
HRH Crown Princess Leslie Monét holds a B.A. in Communications alongside being a 15 year public relations firm owner, magazine editor, journalist, minister consul and mother of four. She currently serves as UNV Online Personnel and a 34 Gallery Brand Ambassador."
Dr. Saravanan Thangarajan is active UNV Online Personnel currently serving as a 34 Gallery Artist & Contributor. As a Harvard-trained Global Health Scholar and a “Canvas for Care” Artist, he passionately addresses health equity, mental health, and climate change through interdisciplinary research and public advocacy.
Federica Aiello Pini is active UNV Online Personnel serving as an Art Judge & Contributor. She is a mixed-media and collage artist dedicated to celebrating nature's
beauty while highlighting climate emergencies and human rights. She also collaborates with museums &
hospitals to develop expressive arts workshops and cultural initiatives.
Web Horizons is an award-winning, eclectic AI artist & UNV Online Personnel. His father passing away from Alzheimer's disease was the inspiration to create his first digital art. International exhibits include NYC, Miami, Prague, Lisbon, Paris, Toronto, Craiova, Tokyo, Las Vegas, Manila, Ibiza, Kingston, Chiapas, Eindhoven and Bali.
Lohan Le Galloudec is a French multidisciplinary artist & UNV Online Personnel with a PhD in aesthetics and art science. His artistic journey began as a music producer in the bass music & lo-fi hip-hop scenes. Lohan also runs 2 music labels (EYESOME & Lo-Fi Clouds) with friends as a sound engineer.
Tariro Mandaza is a recent 2024 Developmental Psychology graduate of the University of Zimbabwe & a UNV Online Personnel Translator. She is also the Founder of Tariro Mandaza Brand and attained a certificate in Mental Health, Recovery and Community Inclusion from the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2021.
Founded in 2024, The 34 Gallery seeks to establish awareness of the current global mental health crisis. According to WHO, more than 80% individuals with mental disorders live in low- and middle-income countries without care access. We seek to foster an ongoing discussion regarding this alarming situation.
At The 34 Gallery, our artists are vocal about their mental health and creative careers. As a community, we utilize our creative platforms to increase awareness, promote creativity for self-care, and encourage our youth to envision a better world by following their dreams. The 34 Gallery is just one part of a larger conversation taking place globally, namely that stigmatizing mental illness can no longer be an option. According to research, climate change has worsened the mental health crisis. If we can accept this, we can also begin working towards global solutions to alter these outcomes.
